Echo chambers 2 4 and 5 at Cello Studios (LA, USA, http://www.cellostudios.com ) are legendary ‘artificial’ reverberators built by Bill Putnam. They were used extensively on Beach Boys and Sinatra recordings. The samples were made right of the patch panel, using the speakers and microphone configurations that were present. We were only able to obtain photographs of a single chamber, as two of the chambers hadn’t been opened for years and were not accessible at all.
