Using own impulse responses in altiverb
26. Jul 2010 at 16:34

Hi, i have created an impulse of a concert hall and used the pre processor to convolve the resultant files, however i cannot select them in altiverb, and this is after re scanning, Also when i try and analyse the files i get a statement saying no files for this io found. I also notice that the files created after the pre processing are different to the supplied impulses as they have the .irp extension whereas mine are just the same four SD 2 files there is no .irp extension.

I am using altiverb 6 on an intel mac pro with protools 8HD.
your help would be grateful. Cheers from the new guy.

The name is confusing: the SD2 files that went into the preprocessor came out with the same name, but they are in fact encrypted files.

Check the .iri file (you can open that in TextEdit) to see if the third line says '0 to 0'. In that case the preprocessor didn't manage to determine a channel configuration from the set.

You can replace that line with what's appropriate: for a mono - stereo IR make it '1 to 2', for stereo - stereo '2 to 2'

Hi Peter,
I have checked the text file and the third line says 0 to 0. I used a mono source to four mics, so was hoping for a quad output does that mean i put in 1 to 4 at this line?

Thank You for your reply
