Preset seems to forget itself
22. Jun 2010 at 13:11

Hi I know I am doing something daft here - when I try to save a preset eg number 6, when I go back to earlier in the session number 1 seems to have forgotten itself.   When I save a preset am I saving the entire automation grid?

cheers

When you save a pro tools preset the complete snapshot array (automaton presets grid) gets saved. When you save an Altiverb preset (from within Altiverb) you only save the current state, not the complete grid.

So if you want to add one preset to an Altiverb that already has some automation presets loaded into some slots, then use the Altiverb presets (called Global Presets in the Altiverb interface) instead of the Pro Tools plug-in presets.

ah ha - so I have various pro tools presets settings saved - is there a way of getting individual presets into an Altiverb Global settings grid?  Every time I open the pro tools preset it resets the whole grid (as you explained!)

cheers

open the preset, select the one from the grid that you need as a preset, then save it as an Altiverb Global preset.

Do this for all the presets you need one time.

After this you can load the presets from within Altiverb and store them to the grid in any Altiverb instance.
