I dunno Wink no really, I don't.

We mentioned coming summer at NAMM. I also know we still have a lot to do before 7 is ready for release.

I will keep you updated here, but as long as Altiverb 7 is not finished I am not going to mention any dates as I do not like to disappoint and raise false hope/expectations.

What I do know is that if you purchase Altiverb 6 now, you'll get the upgrade to 7 for free.

Aram,

Is there going to be a break for us that bought AV6 to use in 64 bit awhile ago but haven't been able to use it much.

Altiverb 6 is 32 bits and works on a 64 bits OS in a 32 bits host application.

There is no info available yet on upgrade pricing (or whatsoever) to Altiverb 7.

Aram,

Using a 32 bit host on a 64 bit OS is like buying a Maseriti and putting a speed governor on it limiting it to 55 MPH.

When I purchased AV6 I should have checked first.

How so?
None of the libraries are all that large.....so I don't really understand why a 64-bit version will be so much better.
Can someone please explain?

OK... software written for x64 actually runs faster than a 32 bit app because the internal data moves around in chunks of 64 bits... all that being said, I use many and large sample libraries and needed to be able to access more sample data via RAM... in 32 bit mode... my projects bog down. In 64 bit they ZOOM. Before 64 bit OS and DAW, I had to use a VST farm just to keep everything running (using FXteleport) and this was a bit buggy and would crash too often.

I'm sure we'll have to wait another month or three before 7 comes along...

But that's fine by me.

Altiverb 6 is working just great !   Smiley

no news. We are working on it. It still is a lot of work, so don't expect any thing soon. We are not going to rush this as we like to take the time to create the best Altiverb possible.
I will inform you here on our forum as soon as there is news on Altiverb 7.
