Escondido, Calif. -- June 30, 1998 -- MacSourcery™ and AudioEase, developers of industry leading multimedia and professional digital audio software, today jointly released version 2.4 of the award winning BarbaBatch™ Batch Audio Processor. BarbaBatch 2.4 adds support for the breakthrough QuickTime™ QDesign streaming audio technology, enabling pro audio and multimedia users to prepare audio content for Internet broadcast while maintaining optimal sound quality. BarbaBatch is the leading Macintosh application for mastering sound and is the only application to support the Internet's most powerful streaming audio technologies - QuickTime 3 and Real Audio™ 5.0.
Rated as the "best overall batch audio processor" by Interactivity magazine, BarbaBatch is ideal for post production, multimedia, Internet and digital telephony applications. BarbaBatch 2.4 enhances conversion to QuickTime 3 audio with state-of-the-art audio processing algorithms. BarbaBatch 2.4 also adds support for Ensoniq Paris 24 bit and Dyaxis MacMix digital audio formats.
"QDesign is excited that BarbaBatch is supporting QuickTime 3,"said Richard J. Beaton, president of QDesign. "BarbaBatch has been a leading audio mastering application for years. It quickly and easily creates optimal conversions of your audio content for use on the Internet."
"Our objective is to deliver the best compression technologies to audio and multimedia professionals," says John Pattenden, President of MacSourcery. "Using BarbaBatch and the QDesign Music codec our user's web sites can stream CD quality sound over a 28.8 modem connection. BarbaBatch is the first audio application that allows content providers to easily take advantage of this leading edge technology."
"With QuickTime 3 now available for Mac OS, Windows NT, and Windows95, everyone can enjoy the great quality of streaming audio compressed in the QDesign Music format," said Mitchell Weinstock, senior QuickTime product manager, Apple Computer. "With the availability of BarbaBatch 2.4, Internet music publishers will be able to easily create QuickTime 3ís CD quality audio for their web sites."
BarbaBatch can process audio content stored in virtually any format including CD-audio, MPEG, Sound Designer, AIFF, WAVE, NeXT/SUN, and VOX. BarbaBatch can also perform gating, normalization, look-ahead peak limiting, fade-in and out, channel processing and dithering.
BarbaBatch 2.4 produces the highest fidelity conversions up to ten times faster than other audio processing products. BarbaBatch also offers unattended batch conversion and is AppleScript™-able, allowing automatic scheduling of conversions. Detailed log files are generated for reliable unattended conversions. Hand tuned for the PowerPC™, BarbaBatch can also utilize any ProTools™ II and Audio Media™ II cards on 68K Macs. The application is capable of processing thousands of digital audio files in one step and folder hierarchies are maintained in the output. Multiple formats can be input and output in the same batch.
Through BarbaBatch's intuitive interface, batch conversions are simplified by dividing them into three stages: Batch Selection, gathers files to be converted; Conversion Configuration, defines one or more file conversions; and Output Folder Selection, defines the output file names. BarbaBatch can play back processed files individually or in a batch and supports varispeed and sound separators.
BarbaBatch includes NameIt™, MoveIt™, JoinIt™ and AffixIt™ utility programs that automate common operations performed on batches of files.
BarbaBatch is available from MacSourcery, a producer and distributor of high-quality products for web and multimedia professionals. BarbaBatch 2.4 retails for $395. For more information, contact MacSourcery at www.macsourcery.com, or sales@macsourcery.com or at 1-760-747-5995.
